September 2021
Welcome back to all Lockport
College Women's Club members!! It certainly has been a long
18 months since we were last
able to meet in March 2020. The Board of Directors has been busy working on how
we can go fomtard considering the challenges of the times and the continuing concerns with Covid
19. We will rise to meet these challenges as befitting of the Club. We have had
to make several changes to our meetings - different place, different time and
now a light supper rather than dessert.
Please join us on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2021
AT 6 PM at THE WILLOW ROOM located at 6676 Lincoln Avenue in Lockport for a
light supper, business meeting and program. The doors will open at 5:30 PM. The
Willow Room is located between Davison Road and
Akron Road. It is next to the Simply Em florist shop. There is a sign on the road that says, "Simply Em." The florist shop is owned by Emily Pellicano. A large parking lot is available at the florist shop and we have been asked to not park on the road.

We would ask that masks please be
worn except when sitting at your table for everyone's comfort.
The venue change has become
necessary because the Lockport Town and Country Club can no longer host our
meetings due to staffing shortages.
Reservations must be made by Sunday, October 3, 2021 by
calling the telephone committee.
Please note that Nancy Neivert's
telephone number has changed for the telephone committee. The new number is
716-628-4431. If you are unable to reach the person listed in the telephone
committee, you can always call Marybeth Wilson or Gail Marshall to make your
reservation. Hostesses will be Mary Beth Caswell and Ann O'Byrne. When checking
in, you will receive a raffle ticket to win one of three bottles of wine from
Marjim Manor Winery.
Our program will be
presented by Margo Bittner, co-owner of Marjim Manor Winery in Barker. Ms.
Bittner is a Toastmaster, Lions Club member and former School Board President.
She is renowned for her ghost stories and hunts at the Manor on Lake Ontario. She
will be speaking to us about the experience of running a winery and fill us in
on all of the activities and wines offered at Marjim Manor. It should be an
interesting program, just the thing for fall and the Halloween season.
Treasurer, Anna Beth Kinyon, will be presenting our
proposed budget for the year. She will also be accepting annual dues payments
of $40.00 at the door. Dues can also be mailed to her at : Anna Beth Kinyon, 1
17 Windermere Road, Lockport, New York 14094.
President, Patty Russell, will
share the list of officers, board members and Scholarship
Committee members
who continue to volunteer their time and energy to keep the Lockport College
Women's Club functioning in the community. If you are interested in getting
more involved in College Club, call Patty Russell or any other Board member.
We are planning on having new directories printed this
year. If you have any changes to your address or telephone number, please call
Marybeth Wilson or Gail Marshall. If you wish to have the Megaphone emailed to
you or have a change in your email address, please contact Judy
Johnson-Paonessa.
Our next
Board of Directors meeting will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the
home of Mary Beth Caswell, 5886 Marion Drive, Lockport, New York. The meeting
will begin at 7:00.
