June 2011

Accessorize!
Leslie Muchow will present a program on accessorizing with jewelry on June 2nd. Consider wearing an outfit that you are trying to accessorize and she can help. It will be fun and fashionable. She will also have her jewelry for sale. The jewelry is priced from $8 to $42 and she accepts cash, checks, and credit cards. She carries both plus sizes and clip on earrings.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm at the Holiday Inn. The dessert will be a fruit plate or Strawberry Shortcake. The cost is $10. Reservations should be made by calling the Telephone Committee or e-mailing smmgrigg@aol.com by 9:00 p.m. on May 29th.
At this meeting you will also be asked to serve and/or vote for the new board for college club and discuss changes to the constitution. The board discussed two items that need to be reviewed at the June meeting: the amount for the scholarships and our dues. The proposed changes are on the back of this Megaphone.
We also discussed how to recognize the 25-year members in the future. They are now receiving a pin at the May Banquet. How about if we pay for their dinner and gave them a certificate? This would allow the money from the pins (about $90 each) to be used for programs. What do you think?

Scholarship Winner
Caroline Randell was introduced at the May Banquet as our newest scholarship winner. She is a remarkable young woman, and the scholarship committee did a fantastic job in selecting her. She is going to be a PreMed student at Syracuse University. Her mother, Katherine Randell, also attended.

Special points of interest:

Monica Pullano announced that Felice Brodsky-Brinkley, Kay Whalen and Marcia Jacobi were honored for being involved in the club for 25 years.

A special THANK YOU to Kohl’s for decorating, providing the fashions, and contributing to our scholarship fund.

The Fashion Show made well over $4000; the baskets alone made over $1000. Thank you to everyone who worked to make it a success!

The June board meeting will be on the 9th at Monica Pullano at 7:00 pm.
