and Country Club to hear Author, Sophie Hodorowicz Knab discuss her book, Wearing
the Letter P: Polish Women as Forced Laborers in Nazi Germany, 1935-1945. Ms.Knab is a retired Professor of Nursing
from NCCC who has researched her family’s experiences during the Nazi
Occupation of Poland during World War II. She has written extensively on Polish
customs and traditions and has been published in several newspapers and
magazines, including the Boston Globe, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle,
Buffalo Spree and Herb Quarterly. She has been a speaker at the Smithsonian
Museum on Polish customs. We are honored
to have her as a speaker. Reservations
must be made by Sunday October 9 by 7:00PM. Hostesses will be Margo Covell and
Shirley Wagner This is a dessert meeting
and the cost is $12.00. The cost covers the dessert of $10.00 and the gratuity
of $2.00. Hope to see you there!
Every meeting is a guest meeting, so be sure and invite a
friend! We are always ready to welcome
friends and potential new members!
We are still in need a person to serve as Secretary this
year. It is not an arduous job! And can be a way for you to meet members!
This position can be shared by two people, too.

Member know of your interest.
Dues for the 2016-17 season are now due in the amount
of $40.00. They can be paid at the October Meeting or
mailed to Treasurer, Anna Beth Kinyon, Lockport College Womens’ Club, 117 Windermere
Road, Lockport, New York 14094.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Octobder
